They are made from composite material that beautifully matches your natural teeth, and can preserve the natural look of your smile. Unlike the older kind of mercury amalgam fillings, these composite fillings are non-toxic, highly biocompatible, long-lasting, and do not fracture like mercury fillings. Procedure
Proper precautionary measures are taken while removing the amalgam filling in order to contain any mercury spilling. The prepared cavity is slightly reshaped to enable the new tooth-colored material to hold. The reshaping, or recontouring, is a minimally invasive technique and a necessary step in the process of replacing a filling. The tooth-colored filling material is selected to match your tooth shade. With our advanced technology, we fill your tooth in layers to recreate a tooth structure that will look exactly like your natural teeth. The filling is polished to give a glossy finish and so that plaque and tartar will not stick on the surface. The filling is as strong as the tooth, so you can eat and drink as you normally would.
