Bonding

What is dental bonding?

Dental bonding is a special resin that is biocompatible, strong, and as hard as your natural teeth.  Bonding can solve many cosmetic problems at an affordable price. Stained, gapped, chipped or crooked teeth can be bonded to give you a reshaped smile, usually in one office visit. The color of the bonding material must match your other teeth so that it appears natural. This may require getting your other teeth to a pleasing color first, through whitening or other services. Our cosmetic dentists are experts in enhancing your esthetics without compromising the oral function. Hence, we pay close attention to the tooth shade and do not compromise in the choice of dental bonding materials.

Procedure

A chipped tooth can be perfectly repaired with our high-standard materials and techniques. The chipped tooth is first isolated and mildly filed to obtain a proper shape and to help the resin to hold. The tooth is then etched with a high-quality etching tool. The tool is well-controlled so that no damage will occur in the healthy tooth structure. The tooth is then bonded, reshaped, and contoured with the high-tech resin composite. The color of the composite material is exactly matched to that of your natural teeth, making it impossible to tell that any work has been done. The bonding is done in layers in order to repeat the exact translucency of the natural teeth. Our restorative dentist handles the repairing process in the most artistic manner. The composite material is highly biocompatible and durable.
